Dear Tim:

I am an Apple customer, your company has been a huge influencer in the progression of technology. For this, I respect and thank you. I want to start by saying that the grace, poise, and confidence with which you have led Apple in the two years since Steve Jobs died has been an inspiration to everyone. Under your leadership, Apple has continued to launch amazing new products and remain one of the greatest and most inspiring companies in history.

There are about 40,000 children mining cobalt in the DRC, according to Amnesty. The DRC supplies most of the world's cobalt, including Apple.
Notably, you did not start this company and there is no quick fix solution, it is a deep issue, in an extremely hostile environment, the DRC, but up until now Apple.Inc has never cowered in the face of a challenge. There needs to be a change in the way make change a change in, you could could be the person to do that.

If Apple had begun as a company that had a respectful ethos and regard for our fellow humans, you would not be in the position you are in now, but circumstantially here you are. Apple has been the forerunners and trendsetters for all other tech companies,  if Apple could be the forerunners in Conflict-free, fair trade Cobalt mining, other companies will follow.

Apple has the audacity to continually give out vague statements, claiming to monitor the mining of lithium. As consumers, we are sick of vague proclamations of “monitoring”,
‘Working on” are terms that are simply not ok!

There are about 40,000 children mining cobalt in the DRC, according to Amnesty. We as consumers are funding this, and you, the CEO of Apple, you know that you are not doing enough. Amnesty UK's business and human rights program director Peter Frankental. "Whilst it's commendable that Apple is investigating its cobalt supply chain, it's still failing to disclose all the human rights risks and abuses it finds." This investigation stage has been happening for years, we as consumers need action.

You are the CEO of one of the worlds largest companies, through a huge amount of hard work and determination I imagine, I commend you for this.

Now is your chance for another monumental change in the world, we need with us Tim, we need you to stand up and say, “This is not ok”.
